Mental strength is paramount

One of the most common questions I get asked is, “When should I begin mental training?” Most athletes believe that first they must be an elite performer, and then they will work on the nitty gritty stuff.

Unfortunately they couldn’t be more wrong.

For centuries. For millennia the greatest philosophers of each age have been repeating the most fundamental truths of human greatness: That the championship mindset must come years before one, in fact, becomes a champion. That mental strength and effort have always trumped talent and luck.

And that if you start with your mind, success will inevitably follow.
